Clinic Directors

An Irlen Clinic Director has been educated at the Irlen Institute to carry out Irlen Lens Assessments, to do both the initial and ongoing training of Irlen Screeners and PASS screeners and to disseminate information about Irlen Syndrome to the general public. The Clinic Director must be in good standing with the Irlen Institute.

Diagnosticians

An Irlen Diagnostician works in tandem with an Irlen Clinic Director to carry out Irlen Lens Assessments and also disseminates information about Irlen Syndrome to the general public. The Irlen Diagnostician must be in good standing with the Irlen Institute.

Screeners

An Irlen Screener has been trained by an Irlen Clinic Director and uses the Irlen Reading Perceptual Scale to identify whether an individual has Irlen Syndrome, determine the severity of the problem and educate the client about how he or she is being affected by the symptoms of Irlen Syndrome. As necessary, the Irlen Screener refers his or her client on for an Irlen Lens Assessment. The Irlen Screener also disseminates information to the general public. An Irlen Screener must remain in good standing with the Irlen Institute by fulfilling CEU requirements to maintain their status as active.

Associates & Affiliates

Associate:
Shall have received a certification from the Irlen Institute Irlen as a PASS Screener and must remain in good standing with the Irlen Institute by fulfilling CEU requirements to maintain their status as active. A PASS screener carries out a preliminary procedure to identify individuals who require an in-depth Irlen Screening.
 
Affiliate:
Non-Resident Affiliate: Individuals who have received certification from the Irlen Institute as an Irlen Clinic Director, Irlen Diagnostician, Irlen Screener, or Irlen PASS Screener whose primary residence or place of employment is not in Canada.
 
Honorary Affiliate:

Persons who have shown evidence of outstanding contribution or performance in the field of Irlen Technology, or persons of distinction in fields other than Irlen Technology. These affiliates shall be elected by the Board of Directors and shall have all rights, responsibilities and duties of Members except that they may not hold office in the Association nor shall they be entitled to vote. They are exempt from paying the annual dues of the association.
 
Supporting Affiliate:
Professionals such as Psychologists, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Educators, etc. and clients wishing to support the development of Irlen knowledge and technologies and keep informed about such developments. These persons may, upon approval of the Board of Directors, become affiliate members but may not hold office and do not have the right to vote.
